JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Generalist – Illinois Operations will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient business operations through support of the Human Resource function at the company’s U.S. manufacturing facility in Rockford IL, and distribution facility in Loves Park, IL. The Human Resource Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training, and compliance initiatives. The Human Resource Generalist should exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships and will be comfortable managing grey areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Employee Relations –Maintain a positive and open relationship with warehouse leadership and employees, supporting the site on all day-to-day HR functional requirements. Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Recruiting – Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Onboarding – Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Implements and schedules new hire orientations. Being a catalyst in the onboarding processes. Actively involved in continuously improving the orientation process.
- Process Improvement - Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience
- Safety - Active partner in the plant’s safety program.
- Training and Organizational Development - Support the Vice President, Human Resources in employee training, development, and performance management. Actively involved with enhancing the talents of our current workforce to successfully develop personnel to their highest skill level.
- HRIS / Payroll – Manage the organization’s employee database and prepare reports.
- Leadership Support – Consulting with managers and warehouse floor personnel to enhance employee performance, improving leadership skills, and implementing HR related processes / procedures.
- Employee Engagement - Active member of the Employee Engagement Committee, driving initiatives to improve employee morale and community involvement
- Education – Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal and professional networks, and visiting benchmarking organizations.
- Compliance - This position will understand Federal and State requirements including FMLA, ADA and EEOC.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Assist Safety, Production and all areas of the company for overall success.Understanding or learning financial budgeting and forecasting.Community involvement as requestedTrain as a backup to the Payroll & Benefits Specialist in areas of payroll, benefits, leave management, etc.Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.PERFORMANCE MEASURES

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Hybrid schedule available – up to two days remote work. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Regular attendance is expected and required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related major is preferred;3 years of HR experience in a warehouse environment preferred.Ability to lead process improvement teams.Must be a “hands on” professional with proven experience in employee relations, leadership development, training, performance management, compliance, communications, staffing, compensation and benefit administration.SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)

Either a SHRM Certified Professional (CP) or HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
