Environmental Test Engineer II (2nd shift)

This position will sit in our Environmental Test Lab in Leander, TX.

SUMMARY

The Environmental Test Engineer II is responsible for test and verification of the launch vehicle and spacecraft system components. In this role you will be an integral part of the Environmental Test Laboratory team in developing detailed test plans, designing test equipment, and managing the performance / execution of tests for product flight certifications.

The candidate must be a self-starter who works well in a team environment and has excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate will form an integral part of a team of engineers and technicians that will be a focal point for the company. The candidate will be expected to learn the testing processes, apply their knowledge, maintain good record-keeping and have good working relationships with team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead test planning, setup, and execution of launch vehicle / spacecraft component and system-level tests in the environmental test laboratory
• Partial ownership of writing and maintaining acceptance and qualification test procedures
• Review finalized test data and report packages, ensuring compliance with Firefly verification requirements
• Act as a subject matter expert for one environmental test laboratory area (thermal, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock)
• Lead root cause investigations of anomalies found during testing and document findings. Ensure corrective actions are executed and followed through.
• Drive test readiness reviews, post-test debriefs, and technical meetings
• Oversee testing, analyze data as testing goes on, provide concurrence to proceed through tests
• Support continuous improvement processes in the environmental test laboratory
