The Business Analyst 1 2 and 3 role is to ensure that technical solutions being developed satisfy the needs of the business. At varying levels positions work with the business to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes; are involved in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems; gathers documents and analyzes business needs and requirements; documents the functional design of a system; and may help test the system and create system documentation and user manuals.

The position is eligible for hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. The candidates permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Any of the following combinations of experience in business analysis work including functional requirements gathering business process mapping process improvement methods and techniques information technology knowledge with emphasis on databases spreadsheets and report and / or Asset Management and completed education in business administration computer science data science information management or closely related field :

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council you must pass a drug test (safety-sensitive positions only) and a background check which verifies education employment and criminal history. The Metropolitan Council considers felony gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions on a case-by-case basis based on whether they are related to the job and whether the candidate has demonstrated adequate rehabilitation.
