PRODUCTION COACH
DETROIT, MICHIGAN - GRATIOT PLANT
As a member of the Operations team, the Production Coach will be responsible for
- Supervising and coordinating activities of production workers
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers
- Assign duties and take appropriate action and to effectively communicate where necessary and observations which may impact Lear’s ability to manufacture a quality product and to achieve an on-time delivery.
The Role :
Your work will include, but not be limited to :
Directly supervises production employees.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable lawsResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsInspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustment of machinesStudies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignmentInterprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulationsEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedulesRecommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of productSuggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crewAnalyzes and resolves work problems, or assists worker in solving work problemsInitiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goalsMaintains attendance, time and production recordsEstimates, requisitions, and inspects materialsIdentify and record any problems related to the product, process and quality systemInitiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.Be knowledgeable of the plant safety rules and ensure all employees perform their duties in compliance with the rules and regulations.Take every reasonable precaution for the protection of the employees.Hold employees accountable for their health and safety responsibilities. Consistently and fairly enforce the safety rules and safe work procedures.Provide continuous on the job instruction in safe work procedures and instruct employees in the use and care of personal protective equipment.Perform daily walk-throughs of their area to detect hazards and to ensure good housekeeping is maintainedRespond to safety concerns and ensure hazards are corrected as soon as possiblePerform accident investigations to identify the root cause in the required time frame and track corrective actions to completionEnsure the TPA receives all Fast-Fax forms following an accident within 48 hours and the Health and Safety contact person is notifiedEncourage and actively support employee involvement in the health and safety programYour Qualifications :
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required :Minimum of an Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsBonus If You Have :
