Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant. Position Location : Sentara Martha Jefferson-Charlottesville, VA Position Status : Full-time Standard Working Hours : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm

The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction / supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP / PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure : Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs :

• CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience : One year of clinical / administrative experience Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
