Role Name : Senior Network Engineer

Location : Columbia, SC (Hybrid )

Work Environment : Partial Onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and as needed. Periodically Wednesday nights and Sunday nights, on-call rotation

Contract length : 11 Months (possibility of extension)

Interviews : 1st round - 30-minute Teams / 2nd round - 90 minutes onsite

Job Profile Summary :

Responsible for the engineering of network infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.

Ensures that the design and integration of proposed solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.

Facilitates the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business systems and information technology.

Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution, and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications.

The Team :

Network Core Team - This team consists of the Platform owner for Network, Technology Owners for all Network Technologies, Senior Engineers / Subject Matter Expects for all Network and technicians from NH-Facilities team. The Network Core team provides tier 3 support of the Network organization, infrastructure projects, technology ownership, and communication / presentations to senior / executive management.

Day to Day :

• Provides consultative direction for network planning, architecture design and engineering. Determines feasibility from technical and economic perspective. Compiles, analyzes, and reviews operational data. Oversees and directs tests to establish standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes.
• Oversees, plans, and evaluates complex network systems and makes recommendations for resources required to develop, maintain and / or expand service levels. Provides consultative support to facilitate design and to resolve design problems. Monitors network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
• Oversees, plans, and ensures implementation of network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the security of the system. Provides strategic planning and participation for disaster recovery operations.
