Our Digital Technology (DT) Network Engineering team has an immediate opportunity for a Principal Network Engineer in St. Petersburg, Florida. This role offers a dynamic, hands-on environment where technical expertise, initiative, and collaboration are highly valued. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, mission-focused team supporting critical programs in secure environments.

What YOU will do :

Designing, deploying, upgrading, and configuring voice and data network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and encryption devices

Monitoring and maintaining network performance to ensure reliability, availability, and scalability

Implementing cybersecurity controls and validating compliance with applicable standards

Developing technical documentation, including operational procedures and troubleshooting guides

Collaborating with program teams to diagnose and resolve complex network issues in tactical and classified environments

Qualifications You Must Have :

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance prior to the start date.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

Minimum 5 years of network engineering experience, including advanced Cisco IOS skills configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

Experience with IEEE copper and fiber cabling standards.

Proficient in analyzing, generating, and managing access control lists (ACLs).

Skilled in creating and maintaining network diagrams using tools like Visio.

Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE) or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications We Prefer :

Strong working knowledge of Cisco IOS, firewall configuration, and routing / switching protocols including EIGRP, BGP, PIM, Spanning Tree, EtherChannel, DHCP, and DNS.

Skilled in IP planning, route summarization, QoS shaping / policing, and Metro Ethernet implementation.

Current or past Cisco certification at the CCNA level or equivalent.

Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

Cisco ACI and Cisco Data Center switches.

Network performance monitoring and diagnostics.

STIG and NIST compliance on Cisco platforms.

Encryption device setup and troubleshooting.

Secure, classified network environments.

Technical documentation using MS Word and Visio.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
