Security Officer

Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona is seeking a Security Officer to monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors. Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees / visitors against acts of violence should they arise. To be successful in this role, you'll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner. Previous experience in security / patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive inspection test and maintenance program for all security physical and electronic measures, implementing the requirements of the Security Management Plan, managing and coordinating responses to critical incidents, and monitoring existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud. You will also conduct ongoing security orientation and training of assigned staff, conduct routine safety patrols of assigned areas, conduct access control and provide escorts for visitors to secure areas, respond to calls for security presence within the Emergency Department, and provide helipad and landing security.

Minimum qualifications include six (6) months experience as a Security Guard involving extensive public contact, a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid AZ State Driver's License within 30 days of hire with satisfactory DMV report upon hire and annually, and an American Heart Association-issued BLS card within 60 days of hire. Preferred qualifications include one (1) year experience as a security guard in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service, and completion of college level education courses in Criminal Justice.
