Job Summary

The Crane Operator / Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Crane and Forklift Operation : Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Product Knowledge : Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices
  • Shipping and Receiving : Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
  • Loading Procedures : Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers
  • Additional Duties : Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations

Qualifications

  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment
  • Certification : Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required
  • Education : High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and / or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Regulations Knowledge : Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight
  • Safety and Procedures : Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures
  • Dependability : Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Learning and Training : Willingness to learn new skills and train others
  • Physical Examination : Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
  • Reliability : Demonstrated reliable work history
  • Attention to Detail : Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
