Job Title : Food Equipment Technician

Location : Torrance, CA (onsite)

Work hour : 9 : 00 am- 5 : 30 pm (Monday to Friday)

FLSA : Exempt, Full-Time, Direct-Hire

OVERVIEW

A global commercial food equipment manufacturer is seeking a Service Technician to join their team in Torrance, CA. About 90% of the work will be performed at the company's service station / warehouse in Torrance, focusing on equipment diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. The remaining 10% involves visiting customer sites for installations and on-site repairs. As this is a smaller organization, the technician will collaborate closely with multiple departments and handle a wide range of responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO :

Perform equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs at the Torrance service station / warehouse.

Conduct adjustments, alignments, and lubrication to ensure machinery is functioning properly.

Visit customer sites (approx. 10% of work) to install, test, and ensure functionality of new or modified equipment, as well as perform repairs.

Provide customer support by answering inquiries, recommending solutions, and training on proper equipment use and maintenance.

Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams at overseas headquarters to resolve technical issues.

Prepare and submit service reports and quality assurance documentation.

Assist with warehouse operations, including equipment inspection, packaging, shipping, and inventory control.

Maintain a clean, organized workspace and collaborate effectively with Sales and Operations teams.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Machinery Service Technician.

Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent organizational and customer service skills.

Ability to lift up to 85 pounds.

Willingness to travel by personal vehicle (up to 10%).

Japanese bilingual skills are a strong plus.
