job_description.job_card.job_descriptionSafely operate a front-load garbage truck on specified routes to collect commercial solid waste. Ensure accurate and timely collection and disposal of waste by operating hydraulic systems to empty containers. Interact courteously with customers while performing the job. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order. Ensure safety protocols are followed during collection and disposal. Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading waste from front-load containers. Maintain cleanliness of the truck and work area. Follow route sheets and service each customer assigned by the dispatcher. Extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds. Work environment may involve some exposure to physical risks, including moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including wet / humid conditions, as well as fumes and vibration. Noise levels are typically moderate. Ability to lift 50+ lbs without accommodation. At least 2+ years of stable job history, with most recent job being a CDL driver position At least 2 years of CDL driving experience . Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious Residential Driver to join our team in Opa Locka, FL .
PAY :
23-$28 / hr DOE, working 50-55 hours a week.
SHIFT DETAILS :
This is a full-time, year-round position . A typical schedule is Monday - Friday , with occasional Saturdays as needed. The workweek is approximately 50-55 hours.
- Guaranteed routes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Wednesday or Saturday will serve as the 5th day, but driving is not guaranteed on this day.
