Overview
Geography / Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Instructor Applicant Pool Adjunct Pool at College of the Canyons (Valencia or Canyon Country campus or other teaching locations). Adjunct pools are open on a fiscal year basis for continuous recruitment for department assignments. Positions are part-time and do not accrue rights to tenure. Hours are flexible and opportunities exist across transfer, general education, vocational and occupational programs. Description

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Geography / Geographic Information Systems (GIS) OR Masters in geography OR Bachelors in geography AND Masters in geology, history, meteorology, or oceanography OR Masters in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area (Earth Science and Geography) AND upper-division or graduate work in at least one other constituent discipline OR Equivalency : official transcript showing completion of a Masters degree from an accredited institution AND official transcripts showing 24 semester units in the discipline at upper-division / graduate level (minimum 12 graduate units). Possession of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. A teaching demonstration may be required at the interview stage. Equivalency requirements can change; if hired, you must qualify under the minimum qualifications or department equivalencies in place at the time of hire. Conditions of Employment
Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate : Starting at $88.30 per hour.
