Job Overview :
MetroSys is seeking experienced Cisco Network Engineers to support a major switch preparedness project as part of an ISE / NAC implementation (no ISE configuration experience required). This is a 12-month, onsite contract role supporting a healthcare client in San Diego, CA . Candidates must have deep hands-on experience with Cisco switches in large, complex environments and be comfortable working in clinical and administrative areas.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and stage Cisco switches to support upcoming ISE / NAC deployment.
Execute physical installations, configurations, and validations of network switches.
Collaborate with internal IT and clinical teams to ensure seamless network updates.
Document work completed, port mappings, and device configurations.
Support network troubleshooting as needed during and post-deployment.
Ensure healthcare compliance and minimize impact to patient care systems during work.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco switching technologies (Catalyst, Nexus).
Strong understanding of VLANs, port security, and access control.
Familiarity with healthcare IT environments and HIPAA-compliant practices is a plus.
Ability to travel to different buildings / sites in San Diego as needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) preferred but not required.
