We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Midland, Texas, on a Contract to permanent basis. In this role, you will oversee critical tax and financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations while driving efficiency and strategic decision-making. This position offers an opportunity to lead and collaborate with key stakeholders in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Manage all aspects of corporate tax, including federal, state, and local compliance.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s financial position.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, filings, and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with sales / use tax, property tax, and other applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and reviews.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Supervise general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate their impact on the organization.
- Manage payroll processes and ensure adherence to franchise regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s in Taxation is a plus.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and tax, preferably in a public accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present financial insights.
- Familiarity with payroll processes and franchise financial reporting.
