We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Labor Coordinator to manage all aspects of our temporary workforce operations. In this role, you will be the primary liaison between our company and staffing agencies, ensuring labor needs are filled efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company standards. Youll oversee onboarding, scheduling, qualification, and offboarding of temporary employees, while working closely with production, quality assurance, and HR teams.
This role is key to building a positive and inclusive culture for our temporary staff making sure they feel supported, engaged, and like valued members of our team, especially those who work with us long-term.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for temporary staffing agencies.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and terms with agencies to optimize cost and workforce quality.
- Partner with production leaders to assess labor needs and allocate workers appropriately.
- Coordinate qualification and weld testing with Quality Assurance, ensuring candidates are prepared and requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records, input new hires, and process hours for agency invoicing.
- Address performance, attendance, and conduct issues in partnership with HR and agency representatives.
- Ensure compliance with PPE, safety, and site requirements.
- Track and report on temporary labor utilization, costs, and performance.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee readiness.
Qualifications
Previous experience in workforce coordination, staffing, HR, or related field preferred.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in timekeeping / data management systems (ADP, Microsoft Dynamics, Office 365).Experience in manufacturing, ship repair, or industrial settings is a plus.Must be a US Citizen due to government contract requirements.Benefits
