WORK OBJECTIVE
Responsible for executing effective programs to inform and educate the public and news media about information concerning the City and the Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (HBCRA). Responsible for leveraging the communication channels for the city and building awareness of City programs, notifications, events, and opportunities for City stakeholders. Work is performed under minimal supervision with latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment based on professional education and previous experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field; supplemented by two years’ experience in public relations / public information, experience in government operations preferred, but not required; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and / or experience.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
