Overview
We are seeking an innovative instructional designer to support the end-to-end development of our leadership development programming, from initial design to delivery and administration. This role requires a creative professional who can move beyond traditional training approaches to create and facilitate visual, interactive, and behavior-focused learning solutions that drive measurable change across our organization.
This temporary, hybrid position operates mostly in an office environment with occasional travel to other Joby sites for needs assessment and program delivery. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and may involve flexible scheduling to accommodate SME and learner schedules. Computer work comprises the majority of daily activities, with some time spent on location facilitating training, observing work processes, and conducting interviews.
This is a temporary role, anticipated to last 6 months.
Responsibilities
Learning Experience Design
- Design and develop actionable guides and visual learning materials that promote immediate application
- Create micro-learning and just-in-time learning resources accessible across platforms
- Develop stealth learning opportunities that integrate seamlessly into daily workflows
- Design and facilitate engaging workshops and learning sessions for diverse audiences
- Coordinate program logistics and communications
Multimedia Content Creation
Produce visually compelling learning materials using graphic design, video, and interactive mediaCreate infographics, job aids, and visual summaries that support on-the-job performanceDevelop multimedia content optimized for mobile and desktop deliveryEnsure all materials meet accessibility standards and accommodate diverse learning preferencesBehavior Change Focus

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or related field8+ years of experience designing adult learning experiences with demonstrated behavior change outcomesProven experience creating multimedia learning content (graphics, video, interactive elements)Strong proficiency in instructional design software and multimedia creation toolsProficiency with AI tools to enhance learning design efficiency and content creationExperience with micro-learning and just-in-time learning design approachesDemonstrated ability to research and synthesize complex topics into actionable learning content without relying on subject matter expertsWell-informed of emerging trends in learning technology and instructional design methodologiesAbility to present creative solutions to complex learning challengesDemonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining high-quality standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDesired

The compensation will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
