Management Aide

At this time, we have two outstanding career opportunities available, as we're looking for the "right person" to serve as Management Aide in the Community Development Department; however, the eligibility list created through this recruitment may also be used to fill future vacancies in other departments.
The Management Aide performs a variety of complex, advanced-level administrative duties in support of operations and activities within an assigned department, requiring independent judgment and discretion.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position is qualifying. A typical combination includes :
Education : A high school diploma or equivalent certificate supplemented by college coursework or specialized training in office, business or public administration. An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration or other related field is desirable.
Experience : Two (2) years' progressively responsible experience providing administrative or management support. Experience working for a public sector agency preferred. Bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
Licenses / Certifications : When assigned to Public Works and Community Development, possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driving record is required at time of appointment and throughout employment. When assigned to Community Development, must obtain a Notary Public certification within six (6) months of appointment.
Special Conditions : Employees regularly assigned / required to drive a city or personal vehicle in the course and scope of work shall be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull Notice program.
Public Employee Disaster Service Worker : In accordance with Government Code Section 3100, all Huntington Beach city employees are required to perform assigned disaster service worker duties in the event of an emergency or a disaster.
