Brooks School provides a co-educational, college preparatory program for 350 boarding and day students in grades 9 through 12. Located in North Andover, MA, Brooks offers both a challenging academic curriculum and an exceptional athletic program, in a close-knit community.
Brooks School is currently seeking a Girls Junior Varsity Squash Coach. The junior varsity coach is responsible for all aspects of the program. This includes developing and mentoring athletes on and off the courts, supervising daily practices, and teaching correct technique. The coach will work in conjunction with the varsity head coach to ensure the overall success of the program.
Position will start in November.
- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume responsibility for safely and effectively coaching Brooks School squash Monday through Saturday from mid-November to March 1. This includes both games and practices
- Communicate and collaborate daily with other coaches on topics of technique and training
- Encourage and motivate students individually and as a team
- Assist the Head Coach with the administration of practices, matches, and tournaments
- Attend to First Aid requirements as necessary
- Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Brooks School, the Independent School League (ISL) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- A positive outlook with enthusiasm for the sport of squash
- A college degree with relevant experience coaching at the high school or collegiate level and / or a successful personal background in competitive squash
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with secondary school students
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept
- Strong technical understanding of squash skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to drive 14 passenger school vans
- Pass background check and other references, as needed
