Hands-on experience with Greenplum tools, including : MADlib, PXF, GPCC, gpfdist, gpload, gpbackup, gprestore, gpdr backup, and gpdr restore. Strong SQL development skills and experience with data warehousing environments. Proficiency in Bash scripting, Python, and working in UNIX / Linux (RHEL) environments. Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices. Familiarity with ETL tools such as IBM DataStage or similar. Automation-minded with a focus on streamlining database operations. Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Exposure to containerization (, Docker, Kubernetes) and CI / CD pipelines. Experience with Databricks and Spark-based data processing. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain database system software, ensuring robust security and performance.
- Monitor and analyze database performance to ensure optimal utilization and availability.
- Maintain database dictionaries, support tools, and accurate system documentation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of strategic, architectural, and tactical plans for database and data warehouse environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on database systems and tools.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve database performance and reliability.
- Implement business continuity and disaster recovery solutions, including replication and backup strategies.
- Establish and enforce database standards and best practices.
- Participate in a 24 / 7 on-call support rotation.
