Director of Accounting

Plano / Frisco, TX - hybrid, onsite 2X / week

Compensation : $150-170K + 20% bonus + LTIP

One of Vaco's legacy clients is looking to onboard a Director of Accounting to oversee corporate and  technical / lease accounting.  This is a larger, high-volume environment and they are looking for folks with a stronger technical background vs. straight GL accounting.  Candidates will ideally have a CPA, experience coming out of a larger company and managing a larger team.

Day-to-day

• Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements in accordance with GAAP or relevant standards.

Focused on the financial reporting cycle, coordinating with the SEC Manager on quarterly and annual filings

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Provide financial insights and reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

Evaluate and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Lead the implementation or upgrade of accounting systems and tools.

Partner with finance teams to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

Monitor variances and provide recommendations for cost management and optimization.

Looking for :

Bachelors in Accounting or relevant field, CPA or CPA in-process nice-to-have

Leadership experience over the full scope and breadth of accounting operations

Servant leader" mentality with a strong focus on mentorship and growth

Exposure to midmarket private equity operations
