Editor Position
We are seeking a skilled Editor to support the Army University Press in the development and publication of high-quality academic and professional publications. This role is critical to ensuring editorial accuracy, style consistency, and publishing excellence across a wide range of multimedia and scholarly products including journals, books, monographs, and digital platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread manuscripts, articles, and multimedia scripts for grammar, clarity, coherence, and style adherence
- Apply appropriate style guidelinesprimarily The Chicago Manual of Style and APAto all written materials
- Collaborate with authors, researchers, and subject matter experts to prepare content for publication
- Format documents using Microsoft Word, and prepare layouts using Adobe InCopy and InDesign
- Assist in managing content across various web-based platforms
- Ensure consistency in formatting, citation, and editorial voice across all publications
- Contribute to project planning, timelines, and content strategy in coordination with the publishing team
- Stay current on style guide updates and emerging editorial best practices
