Global Service Resources  is looking for a contractor   in Los Angeles.

Job Title :  Senior Application Programmer – Mainframe Systems 760

Location :  Downey, CA, 90242

Shift :   Standard

Hours per week :  40 hours

Assignment type :  Temporary (12 months   w / high chance of extension or possibility of direct hire with LA County)

Payrate :  $70-75 / hour

Responsibilities :

Lead complex IT applications design, development, testing, implementation, and support for mainframe systems.

Analyze and refine requirements, create prototypes, plan / design architecture, code / debug / maintain software.

Design outputs, user interfaces, and integrate hardware / software.

Test applications with customers, ensure quality, security, and compliance.

Document programs, evaluate new technologies, and apply IT security policies. Qualifications :

Knowledge in software development, design principles, system integration, database management, and systems engineering.

Minimum 7 years of experience in EDP systems design / programming with one or more : COBOL, Natural / SuperNatural, IMS, DB2 / SQL, Assembler, SAS, CICS, MF FOCUS.

Proficiency with tools / utilities : JCL, TSO / ISPF, IBM OPTIM, FILE Manager, SPUFI, ICEMAN / ICETOOLS, VSAM, CLIST, FTP, CA Gen, CA Endevor, CA Spool, IBM Websphere, Debugger, N2O.

Databases : DB2, IMS, ADABAS, FOCUS. OS : z / OS. Other : EntireX, ASP, HTML, Cloverleaf.

Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science (or equivalent experience).

Onsite work (M-F), later up to 2 days remote based on project needs. Required skills and experience :

Strong expertise in ADABAS / NATURAL, JCL, TSO / ISPF, Predict, N2O.

7+ years in ADABAS / NATURAL programming on mainframes.

Proficient in : Language : Natural

Database : ADABAS

Tools / Utilities : JCL, TSO / ISPF, Predict, N2O, CA Spool

OS : z / OS

Additional Tech : EntireX, SuperNatural, Cloverleaf
