Department Summary
The Department of Continuing Education and Assessment partners with subject matter experts and course directors to design, deliver, and evaluate accredited continuing education (CE) that enhances competence, performance, and interprofessional collaboration across the healthcare team. Programs are informed by practice gaps, aligned with accreditation standards, and delivered through formats such as live and virtual courses, conferences, workshops, regularly scheduled series (RSS), and online modules. The CE team uses data-driven methods to assess learning outcomes, track performance improvement, and demonstrate the real-world impact of CE on clinical practice, patient care, and community health.
Position Overview
The Academic Program Coordinator plays a key administrative role in supporting the planning, coordination, and documentation of accredited continuing education (CE) activities for healthcare professionals. This position ensures the seamless execution of CE programs by managing timelines, assisting with accreditation documentation, coordinating communications with course faculty and internal / external stakeholders, and maintaining CE activity records in compliance with accreditation standards.
Working closely with CE team members, course planners, and internal / external collaborators, the Academic Program Coordinator supports the delivery of high-quality continuing education that enhances professional competence and improve healthcare outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn CE / CPD accreditation requirements (e.g., ACCME, ANCC, ACPE, Joint Accreditation).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Customer-focused mindset when responding to learner inquiries.
