Description
At Northrop Grumman, our employees have incredible opportunities to work on revolutionary systems that impact people's lives around the world today, and for generations to come. Our pioneering and inventive spirit has enabled us to be at the forefront of many technological advancements in our nation's history - from the first flight across the Atlantic Ocean, to stealth bombers, to landing on the moon. We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work — and we have an insatiable drive to do what others think is impossible. Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.
Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a multi-disciplined Test Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Test Engineer (Level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Our team that supports the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is looking to grow in support of designing and implementing technologies critical to the USAF Open Architecture initiatives. Our work influences the investment decisions of our senior leadership and customer program offices as well as impacting the Air Force enterprise of acquisition programs. We are looking for innovative thinkers who thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable with multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, giving verbal presentations, and self-educating without direct supervision.
The selected candidate will work with the Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering lead, and Test Lead to support Test Events for Open Mission System (OMS) and Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) Standards development. You will be supporting a newer program, so a high degree of comfortability with working in an environment where things are not fully defined and making / documenting assumptions while developing approaches based on those assumptions will serve you well.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
- Performing software baseline deployment, testing and troubleshooting a development / test network environment
- Integrating software into test suites, developing configurations for test events, and troubleshooting systems during these events.
- Regularly demonstrating an understanding of test plans, test procedures, test automation, test reports, and execution of integration test activities in System Integration Labs (SILs) or offsite locations.
- Reading error logs, and coordinating corrections with the development team
- Participation in architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of Research and Advanced Design programs
- Collaborating with external industry partner teams to resolve issues and support operations and sustainment.
- Partnering significantly with industry and government stakeholder teams.
- Collaborating with the Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Lead, and Test Lead to build out Systems Engineering artifacts in support of standards development for incorporation into ABMS and JADC2
- Generating and presenting material to support internal and external customer briefings
