This is a 2nd shift position.
GENERAL SUMMARY :
Performs regularly scheduled tasks sorts and repairs parts performs audits and hand packs parts as required. Under general supervision. Performs inspections and audits on part processing in order to ensure the necessary quality requirements according to customer requirements quality procedures and work instructions. Works independently on regularly scheduled tasks with periodic interaction with manager and supervisor to describe progress on special assignments. Work is guided by established company policy and quality requirements of customers. Work does not involve direction or supervision of other employees. Reports to the Quality Control Supervisor and Quality Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma required. Qualified candidate must be proficient in but not limited to basic blueprint reading quality practices and inspection techniques data collection devices statistical process control (SPC) gage and measurement device usage and problem-solving reporting. One year of quality experience is preferred.
DUTIES : Inspection
- Inspect and document conformance of incoming material :
- Vendor supplied materials (bar stock castings etc.)
- Subcontractor processed material (plating anodizing grinding etc.)
- Inspect and document results of in-process and product :
- Machine set ups and tool changes
- Control Plan inspections
- Verification of sorted product
- Observe blueprint for all dimensions and requirements to assure maximum quality and production
- Check measuring devices for accuracy prior to use
- Perform and document final inspection and dock audits
- Product verification layouts / audits as required
- Packaging / shipping paperwork audits as required
- Cleanliness / sediment testing
- Stop production when defects are found contain and report all suspect material / product

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Employee will be exposed to the noise fumes and temperature extremes typically found in a light manufacturing environment. Risk of injury from being in close proximity of operating machinery is possible but unlikely if proper safety precautions are followed. Lifting requirements for this position dictate that the employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40# on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 70# on an occasional basis.
All employees must wear PPE which includes hearing protection and safety glasses both of which are provided by RIMA and slip resistant shoes which the employee provides. RIMA has a prescription safety glass program and safety shoe reimbursement program that is available to employees after 90 days of employment.
