The Job :
As an Inside Sales Representative, you'll be part of our SEF Industrial, Nelson Stud Welding team. Responsible for selling and promoting the company's products to assigned accounts via outbound proactive telephone calls. Further responsibility includes assisting in the development of new and major accounts with outside sales personnel. Administration of the day-to-day functional operations of a regional warehouse under the direction of the Sales Manager. The position is onsite at our distribution center located in Hayward, CA.
- Develop sales forecast for assigned territories.
- Develop and establish goals and standards of performance for assigned territories along with Field Sales Representative and Regional Sales Director.
- Achieve determined sales forecasts, objectives and goals in assigned territories.
- Execute requests for quotation from customers and prospects, according to the Sales Manager's guidelines.
- Distribution responsibilities include : negotiating freight rates and tariffs, routing traffic, tracing shipments, obtaining proof of delivery, and the filing of freight claims.
- Develop call reports as required for specific accounts and / or products.
- Initiate follow-up to screen leads derived from advertising and trade shows.
- Resolve any and all problems with assigned accounts and assist with the resolution of any / all problems with major accounts assigned to outside sales.
- Effectively communicate customer need dates to customer service and production control.
- Analyze, control and administer product pricing in line with the Sales Manager's recommendations.
- Processing customer returns and requests for credit.
- Communicate competitive activities to the Sales Manager
- Communicate technical information between customers and Nelson Engineering Group.
- Attend trade associate meetings in conjunction with customer base, i.e. AWS, Steel Fabricators Association.
- Contact of outside vendors for services, price, delivery, and the request of issuance of purchase orders for the same.
- Operate assigned territory within budget guidelines.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from three-five year college or university; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
