The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in managing the bank’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving process improvements. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Oversee and review daily journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations to ensure proper documentation and controls.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
- Assist with regulatory filings and compliance, including FDIC, OCC, and other banking authorities.
- Participate in the preparation and accurate development of all Bank financial Board Reports.
- Assist the Controller and CFO in the annual CPA audit, internal audit and supervisory examiner visits, preparing request lists, entry schedules, customer confirmations, and tax information gathering and reporting.
- Compile and prepare various reports - liquidity report, loans, deposits & securities concentration report, cash management, investment portfolio, lending limits quarterly and year end reports and financial statements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team development.
- Prepare routine and special reports as scheduled and / or requested.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
